Bootysnacks was born in July 2023 when I randomly exclaimed "bootysnacks!" to my sister and brother-in-law in the car. I was excited about getting tacos and I loved the way it sounded.
We were back home, in Southern California, mourning the loss of our oldest sister Nicole. In the middle of sharing an immense grief we were still hungry AF and the thought of getting tacos in California (East coast tacos aren't the same) really got me pumped. I loved the way "bootysnacks!" sounded, and it felt like natural way for me to express a lot of things. Nicole would have loved it and honestly I feel closer to her anytime I think about it. It also makes me feel closer to other women when I talk to them about it and that brings me joy.
Anyway, I came back home and I started forming an idea of this brand and it's matured into something that I really love. It's a mix of all things Booty, 90's nostalgia, graphic tees, fitness & wellness, and honestly anywhere my inspiration takes me.
A lot of my designs are silly, provocative, and perhaps vulgar to some but it's my expression of femininity and I feel empowered creating them. Also, they make me laugh and we all need more laughter in our lives.
Nicole had a great sense of humor and I could say the wildest things to her and she wouldn't bat an eye. She also had an incredible booty which I was envious of growing up.
This is a photo of me and Nicole, circa '91 or '92. We were 1 year apart and the same size so we shared clothes. We both loved that pink & green dress and it inspired some of my 90's themed Bootysnacks designs.
